This dishwashing brush made of beechwood and tampico fiber (a natural cactus fiber) is intended for everyday use and is a sustainable alternative to plastic, synthetic-bristle brushes. The hard bristle head is ideal for scrubbing dishes and scouring cast iron. For a softer bristle better suited to easily scratched surfaces, shop our soft bristle brush here.

When the brush head has run its course, it can easily be removed from the handle and composted. Replacement brush heads are available in sets of two and can be added to cart by selecting "replacement brush heads" under "options."

Small changes to natural (and beautiful) cleaning brushes is a simple way to foster feelings of joy and contentment in the humble, ordinary moments of our lives and an easy swap toward a zero-waste lifestyle.

Dimensions

Handle + Brush Head: 9" L x 1.5" W x 1.75" H
Brush Head: 1.5" in diameter

Materials & Care

Made of Beechwood, tampico fiber, and metal fasteners.

When not in use, rest bristle-side down to allow water to drain away from the wooden head to prolong the life of the brush head. Alternatively, hang the dish brush from the hook located on the end of the handle.

Shipping & Packaging

Shipping is always free for orders over $100 (Domestic US). A $6.50 flat rate applies otherwise.

We use 100% compostable and recyclable packing supplies— paper (in multiple forms) being the most common. Apart from the clear protective sleeves for our art prints, we never use plastic.

Returns

Undamaged/unused products may be returned within 14 days of purchase for a full refund on the original payment method.

Some products – due to final clearance, weight, or fragility – are not eligible for return (will be noted in the product description).

A Heritage of Quality Craftsmanship

Iris Hantverk is a small business based in Sweden that is continuing the heritage of traditional Swedish brush binding. Hand-bound brushes are made by visually impaired craftsmen in Stockholm and Estonia.

Iris Hantverk’s hope is that the appreciation for the quality of a hand drawn brush will allow for them to continue the tradition and preserve the jobs of the visually impaired.
